This is a lesson designed to teach students how salt affects the heart. The aim of the lesson is for students to explain ways to reduce their salt in take, to eat more healthier. The lesson includes: Do Now Task, Learning Objective Educational Video Activities (finding information from a nutritional table & creating a mind map) Questions to prompt deeper thinking Plenary All slides are in CIP to reinforce students understanding.

This lesson begins with Do Now task, asking student what they know about healthy eating, for AFL purposes. The lesson simply focuses on what healthy eating is and introduces how many calories per day. The lesson displays popular foods and the calorie intake. I have listed challenge questions for students to adapt meals, to encourage deeper thinking (this can be extended). The lesson contains a plenary, to find out what students now know about healthy eating. The lesson is in CIP to reinforce students understanding. This lesson has been created for students with SEND.
